PCG joins massive multi-agency response to Binondo fire

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted in response operations during a fire that hit the Parola Compound in Delpan, Binondo, Manila on May 23, 2026.

The fire reportedly broke out at around 2:50 p.m., prompting a large-scale response from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), which deployed 55 fire trucks alongside various volunteer fire groups to contain the blaze.

In support of the operation, the PCG Fleet and the Coast Guard District National Capital Region–Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL) deployed multiple floating assets, including the Metal Shark 1103, three Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs), and two rubber boats. Additional waterborne assistance came from an MMDA ferry boat and a Mandaluyong fire boat.

PCG personnel also provided first aid to individuals affected by the incident while operations were ongoing.

After hours of firefighting efforts, the BFP declared the fire under control at around 12:15 a.m. on May 24, 2026.

The PCG said it remains committed to supporting inter-agency disaster response operations and ensuring the safety and welfare of affected communities.
