The Department of Finance (DOF), under the leadership of Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, has extended the validity of importer accreditation from one year to three years and reduced related fees to streamline processes and support trade.
The reform, implemented through a Customs Administrative Order issued by the Bureau of Customs (BOC), aims to cut red tape and improve the efficiency of goods movement into the country.
Under the new policy, the accreditation fee has been lowered from ₱2,000 annually, or ₱6,000 over three years, to a one-time payment of ₱5,000 for a three-year period.
Go said the extended validity will help create a more efficient trade system by allowing businesses to focus on operations and growth instead of administrative requirements.
To maintain compliance, importers are required to submit an Annual Reportorial Compliance (ARC) within 30 days of their accreditation anniversary.
The order also outlines guidelines for automatic renewal. Importers with six consecutive years of uninterrupted and compliant accreditation may qualify for automatic renewal. The policy covers Authorized Economic Operators and Super Green Lane Accredited Importers.
The DOF said the measure supports the directive of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to promote a more business-friendly environment and enhance the country’s trade competitiveness.
