Japan-PH dialogue highlights investment priorities in New Clark City

Key sectors including modernized transport, water security, disaster resilience, digital infrastructure, and renewable energy were identified as priority areas for Japanese investment in New Clark City during the Japan–Philippines Business Dialogue on Infrastructure and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Opportunities.

The two-day dialogue, organized by the Public-Private Partnership Center, the Organization for PPP Promotion Support (OPPS), and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Group, brought together Japanese investors, Philippine government agencies, and private sector leaders to strengthen collaboration under the PPP framework.

Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuya Endo underscored the importance of infrastructure in driving economic growth, disaster resilience, and social equity.

Representatives from the Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport and Urban Development (JOIN) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) shared insights on advancing high-quality infrastructure through global partnerships, innovation, and sustainable technologies, while emphasizing the need for strong coordination, transparency, and proper risk allocation.

BCDA Vice President for Investment Promotions and Marketing Erwin Kenneth Peralta presented the agency’s project portfolio and ongoing developments, noting that BCDA is positioning key growth areas across Manila, Central Luzon, and Northern Luzon.

Officials reiterated that public-private partnerships remain central to the Marcos administration’s strategy for infrastructure-led growth, investment generation, and long-term national development.
