PLDT Home recently held its 4th Gawad Madiskarte Awards, recognizing Filipino mompreneurs whose resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive continue to create meaningful impact in their communities.
Launched in 2020, the initiative has evolved into a strong platform celebrating mothers who successfully balance family life while building purpose-driven businesses. Now on its fifth year, the program, together with partners UN Women and Philippine Commission on Women, introduced the campaign “Panahon Mo Na,” encouraging mothers to take pride in their entrepreneurial journeys.

The growing Madiskarte Moms PH community now counts over 227,000 members, fostering mentorship, shared experiences, and digital empowerment among women entrepreneurs.
PLDT highlighted the importance of connectivity in enabling business growth while supporting mothers in managing both home and enterprise. “Reliable connectivity is a powerful enabler of growth,” said Menardo “Butch” Jimenez Jr., noting that digital tools and strong communities help mompreneurs expand opportunities and uplift others.

In the Diskarteng Eco-Friendly (Start-Up) category, Lanie Abanes Geronimo of Ecobum Cloth Diapers was recognized for her purpose-driven venture creating reusable diapers, inspired by personal loss and aimed at helping other mothers.
Meanwhile, Elsie Camille Espiritu of Kamagong Woodworks received the Diskarteng May Puso (Scale-Up) award for her handcrafted wood products business, built through passion and community support.
Empowering Women Through Community and Connectivity
With over 200 nominations received, the awards underscored the strength and diversity of the mompreneur sector. Winners received cash prizes and specially designed trophies by Filipino visual artist Eric Masangkay, while finalists were also recognized.
A distinguished panel of judges, including industry leaders and advocates such as Ces Oreña-Drilon and Anna Meloto-Wilk, evaluated entries based on innovation, impact, and entrepreneurial journey.
More than an awards program, Gawad Madiskarte highlights the importance of digital access and strong support systems in empowering women. It continues to inspire mothers to pursue entrepreneurship, proving that success goes beyond profit—rooted instead in purpose, perseverance, and community impact.
As the initiative grows, it reinforces the role of inclusive opportunities in advancing gender equality and enabling women to thrive both economically and socially.
“What makes a Madiskarte Mom remarkable is not how she succeeds when things are easy, but how she moves forward when they are not,” Jimenez added.
Mothers and aspiring entrepreneurs are encouraged to join the Madiskarte Moms PH community and be part of a network that champions growth, empowerment, and shared success.
