Brigada Eskwela 2026 generated more than ₱43.8 million worth of resources across Central Luzon on its opening day, demonstrating strong community support for school preparedness ahead of the start of classes.
The Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office reported that over 201,000 volunteers joined the annual bayanihan initiative, contributing to efforts to create safe, clean, and learner-friendly school environments.
DepEd Assistant Regional Director Jessie Amin said the donations came from national government agencies, local government units, private companies, civic groups, financial institutions, parents, teachers, and community volunteers. Support included school supplies, equipment, financial assistance, and manpower.
Amin noted that the strong participation reflects the continued spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility among stakeholders in ensuring schools are ready to welcome learners.
As DepEd’s flagship convergence program, Brigada Eskwela strengthens partnerships among communities and institutions to help maintain school facilities and improve learning conditions.
The initiative also supports the administration’s whole-of-government approach to education, which focuses on enhancing learning environments, upgrading school facilities, and fostering collaboration to improve educational outcomes nationwide.
